Operations Engineer

Alquion is a Dutch cleantech scale-up located in the Port of Rotterdam and Eindhoven’s Brainport. The company was formed through the merger of Battolyser Systems and VDL Hydrogen Systems. Our mission is to capture low-cost solar and wind energy and convert it into affordable hydrogen to fuel industry sustainably.

We develop the world’s first fully flexible, pressurized alkaline electrolyser for industrial applications. Unlike conventional systems that cannot respond to volatile power prices, our Flexolyser™ can switch on and off without performance compromise. This allows customers to convert electricity to hydrogen when prices are low and sell electricity back to the grid when prices are high—integrating renewable energy into the future energy system.

With innovative design and decades of manufacturing experience, we unlock new business models and deliver reliable, industrial-scale solutions. Our work contributes directly to European energy independence and a net-zero industrial future.
