Introducing Flexolyser™

Flexolyser™ is the first fully flexible pressurised alkaline electrolyser for industrial applications.

It is designed for safe intermittent operations enabling new business models and lowering overall system cost.

Benefits of
the Flexolyser™

Fully flexible hydrogen production reduces levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH) by up to 25% compared to alternative electrolyser technologies. With unlimited start & stop capability, Flexolyser can maximize arbitrage between power trading and hydrogen production.

Fully flexible
Unlimited start & stop without degradation enabling up to 25% lower LCOH
Stack efficiency
Best in class performance
Fast response time
Direct load following of RES and short-term power trading
High-capacity stack
Reduced footprint
Standardized modules
Reduced cost and project lead times
Pressurised
Reduce OPEX and compression cost
RFNBO compliance
Designed to produce only when electricity is ‘green’ (Delegated Act compliant)

Why flexibility?

Full flexible operation allows an electrolyser to only produce when it makes economic sense. It benefits from increasing power price volatility can reduce the LCOH up to 25% compared to alternative technologies. This improved business model is made possible as the Flexolyser can be switched off and on without performance compromise, unlike conventional electrolysers. Fully flexible operations do not burden the grid and can attract incentive for grid congestion alleviation.

Alquion has developed an advanced Techno Economic Model to optimize LCOH by only producing when electricity prices are sufficiently low, or otherwise trade on the electricity market. The model is externally validated, can simulate specific use cases and compare this to alternative electrolyser technologies.
